Krüppel-like factor 14 (KLF14) is a gene located on chromosome 15 within the human genome. It is responsible for regulating the expression of genes found in adipose tissue (fat tissue). KLF14 is capable of activating and terminating genes in adipose cells. hence, it can be understood as a "main switch" that functions to control up to 20,000 types of metabolic diseases due to diabetes, high cholesterol, etc.
